The television universe has been rapidly changing due to the impact of communications and software technologies. From a box which could receive broadcasts, VHF/UHF transmissions, show images and produce sounds, the internet has now become the game-changer. So we had to also focus on Information Technology, Internet TV, Closed Circuit Wi-Fi-based TV and suddenly, software solutions became more important than hardware where the main evolution was around the screen from gas tubes to LCD to LED with accompanying changes in shape and look.
We are now engaged in new areas of business activities which are diverse and our present business model is quieter and more specialized. Our base remains intact being television and electronics, but we are building on this foundation. Our present activities do not call for huge visibility or the creation of mass consumer awareness on a continuous basis due to the specialized nature of our present profile. This is despite the great legacy of SONODYNE TELEVISION which is popular and has enormous recall value both products and the brand having served many generations of satisfied Indian TV customers.
